Terms & Conditions
All of our products are baked with fresh and local ingredients, and contain no preservatives. The freshness of the ingredients means your cake will taste its best within three days of collection. Your cake will also taste best at room temperature – but if you don’t want to eat it all right away, please keep it covered up and in the fridge. You should also note that your cake may contain the following allergens (unless otherwise specified): Nuts (including traces), Milk, Dairy, Eggs, Lupin, Cereals, Sulphur Dioxide. Cakes by Bethany aim to make all parts of a cake edible, however on the odd occasion this is not possible (e.g. wires used to attach sugar flowers).
Damage or Deterioration
We cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by you if they are damaged during transit to your home if you or your courier/agent has signed our confirmation form confirming that the goods were in good condition and undamaged at the point of collection. Under no circumstances shall we be liable to you in respect of any complaint concerning any aspect of any product which is not raised by you within 24 hours of delivery by us or collection by you or your courier/agent.
Your 50% deposit is payable two weeks after receiving your order confirmation. After this time if no deposit payment has been processed, your wedding date will not be reserved and as such may be bookable by another couple.
Unless otherwise discussed, your wedding cake will be delivered and set up by us at your wedding venue on the date of the event. We will usually contact your venue around a week prior to arrange the best time to do this. If your cake is being dressed with fresh flowers, please provide us with your florists details in advance of the date so that we can liaise with them regarding timings and dressing the cake.
Please note that amendments to your order which may incur a reduction in value (and therefore reduction in total cost of the order) are permissible only six months or longer prior to the event – after which time, amendments are only possible if they are to the same or a greater value as the agreed order. No amendments are possible three weeks or closer to the event date.
Please take note that during the warmer summer months naked cakes or cakes with a buttercream finish may be at risk of some dripping or drooping, particularly when placed in venues without temperature regulation such as some barns or marquees. These cakes should not be placed in direct sunlight.
We of course do everything within our power to avoid accidents, but in the event that your wedding cake is damaged or destroyed, rest assured that Cakes by Bethany have a plan of action. A standard dummy replacement will be delivered to your venue for use of photographs, ceremonial cutting etc. Thereafter, cake portions in flavours we have immediately available will be provided, to the required quantities, in time for your guests to take a slice of your wedding cake home. In this event, refunds would not typically be offered and as such will be considered on a discretionary basis only.
Stand hire is available at the quoted cost per stand plus a £100.00 refundable deposit. Deposit will be repaid upon safe return of the cake stand, within two days after the event, to: Cakes by Bethany, 2 Martins Court, Off West Street, Congleton, CW12 1JR.
